Men's Night Ministry Team Member – Burnside Shelter

Portland, OR

This role is responsible for the safety of the Burnside facility, those in residence and those receiving emergency services, including overnight shelter. The Night Ministry Team Member will report mainly to the Manager of Outreach Ministry, and is vital in our efforts of impacting those who visit us from the streets of downtown Portland.

Women's Growth Manager

Portland, OR

The Growth Manager will lead a team of addiction recovery professionals through oversight and implementation of the addiction recovery components of our New Life Ministry for women at Shepherd’s Door. Demonstrated therapeutic understanding, program development and leadership skills are required. The right candidate will have case management skills, be an experienced team builder, and have a background in addiction recovery and CADC credentials. As the leader of the Recovery Team at Shepherd’s Door, the Growth Manager is responsible for providing case management over a select case load of residents, as well as facilitating a peaceful, hospitable, transforming and safe ministry for all Shepherd’s Door residents. The Growth Manager will be deeply involved in all related departments, providing an increased ministerial presence through prayer and specific guidance/accountability that each individual resident needs. This is done while maintaining safety for everyone involved and engaging in ministry that furthers the values of Portland Rescue Mission culture and every element of the transforming environment of Shepherd’s Door.

Guest Care Specialist

The Guest Care Specialist serves our guests by developing and participating in a vibrant community environment among those experiencing homelessness in Portland. This individual enthusiastically interacts with our guests and facilitates ministry opportunities through our Guest Care Center and outreach services. This individual also serves and builds relationships with men in our Connect program and assists the outreach staff in administering general services to our population.

Growth Support Staff Member (Women's Ministry)

Portland, OR

The Growth Support Staff position holds a high level of immediate responsibility for the safety of residents of Shepherd’s Door during evenings, nights, and weekend shifts. The person in this role will work in collaboration with the Recovery Staff to ensure that residents experience consistency of program, grace in crisis and support as needed.

Family Life Ministries Manager (Shepherd's Door)

Portland, OR

Under general supervision, plans, develops, organizes, and directs the educational and spiritual aspects for children of Portland Rescue Mission. The Family Life Ministries Manager supervises support staff, interns, volunteers and coordinates with community and professional groups associated with the program. The children’s program at Portland Rescue Mission is designed to care for children age birth to 12 years who have been homeless and may have suffered abuse and/or neglect. There will be a strong emphasis on teaming with the mother to develop a strong, interactive parent/child relationship. The Family Life Ministries Manager will provide parent/child mentoring classes and opportunities as children are reunited with their mothers, and work closely with the Advocacy department.

Family Life Ministries Assistant (Permanent P/T Position)

Portland, OR

The Family Life Ministries program is a Christian ministry of Portland Rescue Mission designed to care for children age birth to 12 years who have been homeless and may have suffered abuse and/or neglect. While the primary focus is on ministry and care for children, interaction with the mothers in the New Life Discipleship Program facilitates a whole-family approach. Primary emphasis with the children is on creating a Christ-centered school-like environment while increasing language and motor skills that may be delayed due to environmental factors. Older children are targeted for treatment and development of emotional growth with primary emphasis on building self-esteem and relationships of trust.
