Family Life Ministries Assistant (Permanent P/T Position)

Portland, OR

The Family Life Ministries program is a Christian ministry of Portland Rescue Mission designed to care for children age birth to 12 years who have been homeless and may have suffered abuse and/or neglect. While the primary focus is on ministry and care for children, interaction with the mothers in the New Life Discipleship Program facilitates a whole-family approach. Primary emphasis with the children is on creating a Christ-centered school-like environment while increasing language and motor skills that may be delayed due to environmental factors. Older children are targeted for treatment and development of emotional growth with primary emphasis on building self-esteem and relationships of trust.

Women's Connect Night Associate

The Women's Connect Night Associate is responsible for ministering to female guests from the homeless population during the evenings and overnight shift. Downtown Chaplain and Link Advocate (Case Manager)

Portland, OR

The Downtown Chaplain and Link Advocate serves by ministering to the physical and spiritual needs of the men in the Link Program. Forming and fostering partnerships with churches, agencies, and governmental entities, as well as empowering volunteers to take an active role in this service, are also essential. This role works directly with the Link program residents, supporting them as they seek housing, employment, and other advocacy options. This role also serves as a co-pastor for the Pdxmission church that holds a Sunday service at the Burnside location. This position is responsible for the implementation of Life Groups for the Link program and Harbor residents.

Family Life Ministries Manager (Shepherd's Door)

Under general supervision, plans, develops, organizes, and directs the educational and spiritual aspects for children of Portland Rescue Mission. The Family Life Ministries Manager supervises support staff, interns, volunteers and coordinates with community and professional groups associated with the program. The children’s program at Portland Rescue Mission is designed to care for children age birth to 12 years who have been homeless and may have suffered abuse and/or neglect. There will be a strong emphasis on teaming with the mother to develop a strong, interactive parent/child relationship. The Family Life Ministries Manager will provide parent/child mentoring classes and opportunities as children are reunited with their mothers, and work closely with the Advocacy department.

Women’s Growth Leader (Case Manager) for Women's Program

The Growth Leader at Shepherd’s Door will provide a strong emphasis on case management with a preferred background in recovery, including CADC credentials. As a member of the Recovery Team at Shepherd’s Door, the Growth Leader is responsible for providing case management over a selected number of residents, as well as facilitating a peaceful, hospitable, transforming and safe ministry for all Shepherd’s Door residents. The Growth Leader is a strong team player and is deeply involved in all related departments, providing an increased ministerial presence through prayer and specific guidance/accountability that each individual resident needs. This is done while maintaining safety for everyone involved and engaging in ministry that furthers the values of Portland Rescue Mission culture and every element of the transforming environment of Shepherd’s Door.

Men's Growth Leader (Case Manager)

The Men’s Growth Leader (Case Manager) is responsible to oversee and develop the growth of a Family Group of residents through integrating addictions recovery, spiritual formation and life skills training all aiming toward the result of Christ-centered, life transformation. The Men’s Growth Leader will mobilize volunteers and Service Residents to enhance the discipleship process, ensuring that volunteers and Service Residents are equipped and leveraged into significant areas of ministry. This person will create a holistic discipleship and recovery environment practicing relational ministry, experiential learning, modeling Christlikeness and collaborating often.
