Life Skills Specialist

The Life Skills Specialist at Shepherd’s Door reports to the Manager of Operations and is an integral part of the Operations Team. This person will support the Women’s Restoration Recovery program to address issues pertaining to home life skills and career readiness. This will be accomplished by the team through program development, event planning, individual coaching sessions, group activities and strategic collaboration as unique needs arise.

Vehicle Mechanic for Drive Away Hunger

Portland, OR

This is a full-time vehicle mechanic position for the Drive Away Hunger program at Portland Rescue Mission. This role provides mechanical experience and hands-on expertise to diagnose and complete repairs on a wide variety of donated vehicles while contributing to a dynamic Christian ministry environment and mentoring men and women in PRM’s addiction recovery programs.

Family Life Ministries Elementary Coordinator

Portland, OR

The Family Life Ministries program is designed to care for children age birth to 12 years who have been homeless and/or may have suffered abuse or neglect. The Family Life Ministries Elementary Coordinator focuses on the implementation of age-appropriate programming and support to elementary children residing at Shepherd’s Door. While the primary focus is on the care for the child(ren), interaction with the mother facilitates a family treatment approach. Primary emphasis with the children is on increasing intellectual, social, emotional, language and motor skills that may be delayed due to environmental factors. Older children are targeted for treatment and development of emotional growth with primary emphasis on building self-esteem and relationships of trust.

Downtown Chaplain and Connect Advocate (Case Manager)

Portland, OR

The Downtown Chaplain and Connect Advocate serves by ministering to the physical and spiritual needs of the men in the Connect program. Forming and fostering partnerships with churches, agencies, and governmental entities, as well as empowering volunteers to take an active role in this service, are also essential. This role works directly with the Connect program participants, supporting them as they seek housing, employment, and other advocacy options. This role also serves as a co-pastor for the Pdxmission church that holds a Sunday service at the Burnside location. This position is responsible for the implementation of Life Groups for the Connect program and Harbor residents.

Family Life Ministries Assistant (Permanent P/T Position)

The Family Life Ministries program is a Christian ministry of Portland Rescue Mission designed to care for children age birth to 12 years who have been homeless and may have suffered abuse and/or neglect. Men's Night Ministry Team Member – Burnside Shelter

Women's Growth Manager

Portland, OR

The Growth Manager will lead a team of addiction recovery professionals through oversight and implementation of the addiction recovery components of our New Life Ministry for women at Shepherd’s Door. Demonstrated therapeutic understanding, program development and leadership skills are required. The right candidate will have case management skills, be an experienced team builder, and have a background in addiction recovery and CADC credentials. As the leader of the Recovery Team at Shepherd’s Door, the Growth Manager is responsible for providing case management over a select case load of residents, as well as facilitating a peaceful, hospitable, transforming and safe ministry for all Shepherd’s Door residents. The Growth Manager will be deeply involved in all related departments, providing an increased ministerial presence through prayer and specific guidance/accountability that each individual resident needs. This is done while maintaining safety for everyone involved and engaging in ministry that furthers the values of Portland Rescue Mission culture and every element of the transforming environment of Shepherd’s Door.
